Description

Jordan’s flag, which was adopted in 1928, is a tribar made up of three equally sized horizontal stripes; black at the top; white in the middle, and green at the bottom – all representing the Arab Abbasid, Umayyad and Fatimid dynasties respectively. A crimson triangle, emanating from the left side and pointing towards the middle, is charged with a seven point star at its center – which is believed to represent the first seven verses of the Koran, which is the Islamic holy book.
